"Come on in and join the fun." Relax and enjoy our rustic family atmosphere while you eat the best catfish and seafood around. Start with fresh roasted peanuts served at your table. Then, help yourself to our salad bar, but be sure to save room for those generous portions of delicious catfish, shrimp, and other seafood entrees cooked to perfection, the Catfish Cabin way.

In 1980, with Maw-Maw James' hushpuppy and catfish recipe, our family set out on a journey that is still in progress over 20 years later. It all started in a small remodeled army barrack in the small town of DeRidder, Louisiana. Our goal has always been to provide the best catfish and seafood available, covered with a hometown country atmosphere. Patricia "Pat" James originated many of the ideas that has made Catfish Cabin a household name in Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas. We are committed to her tradition of making folks feel "at home" each and every time they visit Catfish Cabin.

Many folks ask, "Why do you throw the peanut shells on the floor?" Well, to be quite honest, we don't know. It just happened, people had fun doing it, and it has become a tradition for Catfish Cabin. Whatever the reason, make yourself feel at home, enjoy your meal, and thanks for dining with the folks at Catfish Cabin!
